E-car sales record
Last year, in 2021, more than 6.5 million electric cars were sold worldwide, compared to 970,000 units sold in December alone.

The report further claimed that in 2021, about 6.5 million new passenger plug-in electric cars were registered in the world, which is about 108% more than that in 2020. In 2020, 3.1 million cars were registered.
Even compared to 2020, sales of 4.6 million battery-powered electric vehicles increased by 69 percent in 2021. In the case of plug-in hybrid vehicles (1.9 million), the growth rate is 31 percent.
